Our investors understand that a rising tide raises all ships. Over 80 private investors have stepped up and claimed a seat at the table where ideas and solutions are formed that will shape the future of Plant City. Our board members represent top corporate and community leaders in our area. This elite group of investors can vote on critical matters that directly influence the strategic plans for our organization. Board members can also chair various committees and serve on the executive committee, which acts as PCEDC’s governing body. Investors at the general membership level play a critical role advocating for Plant City and keeping abreast of our activities and initiatives. General members can also be invited to serve on standing committees.
As an investor, members are invited to attend at least eight meetings annually during which new corporate citizens are introduced and business partnerships are formed. Investors also benefit from monthly e-newsletters that aim to keep our members informed first about local development news and activity. Most importantly, our investors are able to collaborate with an elite team to ensure Plant City remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
I have served in several leadership roles in this community throughout the past thirty years, not only as Mayor and Commissioner but also as Chamber Chairman. During my tenure, I’ve noticed a lack of cohesiveness in bringing together the strengths of the community to pursue positive incremental growth. The Plant City EDC should prove to be the catalyst for that cooperative effort necessary to attract new business and assist existing businesses in their growth efforts.”
