Last week, over 100 Plant City High School (PCHS) students had the opportunity to meet with some of Plant City’s most reputable companies. This field trip was made possible by the collaborative efforts of the PCHS Business Advisory Board, a team of passionate educators, business leaders, government officials and parents who have the best interest of the students at PCHS in the forefront of their minds.
The Plant City Economic Development Corporation played an integral role in coordinating the day’s events, setting up visits to Patterson Companies, Hillsborough Title, Stingray Chevrolet and Highland Packaging Solutions. These companies offer great jobs and benefits to their employees, and the Business Advisory Board wanted to invite PCHS seniors for a chance to make once-in-a-lifetime connections with these companies. It was a chance for students to learn how they can get trained, grow with these companies and potentially be hired after high school.
“The day was a great success, our students have had the opportunity to tour these businesses, and ask questions and for many of them they may have found their dream or their goal for the future,” said Susan Sullivan, PCHS principal.
