Larry Jimenez Jr., VP Business Development at Star Distribution, serves as Secretary & Treasurer of the Plant City EDC.
Since 1931, Star Distribution Systems, Inc. is recognized as Florida’s Premier 3rd Party Logistics Provider. Our unrelenting goal is to provide our customers the highest level of customer service, coupled with award-winning logistic services, every day.
Why did you choose Plant City as the location for your business?
Not withstanding that Plant City has been Star’s home for over thirty years, this region along the I-4 corridor is poised for expansive growth that will require engineering and construction consulting services.
Why did you get involved with the EDC?
I have served in several leadership roles in this community. During my tenure, I’ve noticed a lack of cohesiveness in bringing together the strengths of the community to pursue positive incremental growth. The Plant City EDC should prove to be the catalyst for that cooperative effort necessary to attract new business and assist existing businesses in their growth efforts.
What do you think are the greatest assets of Plant City?
While Plant City is centrally located along the I-4 corridor, it also is a close knit community with family oriented values.
Describe what you believe the impact of the EDC will be:
The primary impact of the PCEDC will be to provide a laser like focus to growth oriented companies interested in making Plant City home.
What is the outlook for your company related to the growth of economic opportunities in Plant City?
Star Distribution subscribes to the notion that a “rising tide lifts all ships.” Our focus is on the infrastructure of the existing environment. Not only do we believe that this area provides the greatest potential for the growth of our company, we want to provide the services that will protect and ensure a vibrant community for future generations.
